Engaging Youth in Gang Prevention: A Resource Guide for Project Safe Neighborhoods

Kovener, Marti (2009). Prepared for the Bureau of Justice Assistance, this guide was created to give PSN Task Forces hands-on models and tools to engage youth in meaningful ways to address gang violence. The programs and strategies highlighted in the resource guide have shown success in helping youth (with guidance and support from responsible adults) to determine how best to influence their peers and work together to address gang violence.

Engaging Youth in Gang Prevention Online Toolkit

Miller, Margaret (2009). A companion to the Engaging Youth in Gang Prevention Resource Guide, this online toolkit provides additional information about successful youth-oriented gang prevention programs and strategies, including detailed program examples, implementation steps to follow in replicating these programs and strategies, youth-developed gang prevention and awareness tools, and information about getting technical assistance on implementation.
